1 Timothy 2:1-2
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people –
for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Sometimes, there are simply no words for how God ministers faithfully to our hearts, just when it is most needed.
Just when I was anxiously thinking about how to present my decision of leaving my job to my boss (who was already planning to retire in a few months time), I read my calendar devotional, and IT WAS PERFECT.
Nothing else and no one else matters when you know you’ve got God with you.
July 23 2014: “Really, anything we hold tighter than we do Christ is a security blanket. And it’s possible that, instead of just providing comfort and safety, those blankets are holding us down. I’m committing to letting go of some of these security blankets – and reaching for God. Even when it scares me.”
Especially when it scares me.
And thinking back, it was such a scary decision to make.
Leaving something that seemed so secure and stable, and venturing into the unknown, with nothing to hold onto except God’s faithfulness.
But that is the amazing thing about believing in Jesus. 🙂 You know that all is going to be well, as long as He is the only one leading you.
We can always fully trust Him. 🙂
So I did.
I remember feeling so much at peace with my decision, and as I made my way to work that morning, I texted my friends about how good God is…
