Lamentations 3: 21-24
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
It was a hot Sunday afternoon, and we went to church as usual. We had just left the coffeeshop after filling our tummies with lunch, and were about to cross the road when I saw someone waving to me from across the street. I couldn’t quite see who that lady was yet, but I waved back anyway. Call it a natural instinct to be friendly. 🙂
But Bren laughed at me, saying that the lady was not waving to me (oops), so I ended up feeling a tad embarrassed. She was with a friend, and both of them started walking towards my direction, and so I pretended to look elsewhere…
As they neared, I felt my face flush, feeling embarrassed that I waved to someone who wasn’t looking for me.
But then I heard my name – “Jacinta!” Surprised, I quickly turned, and those two ladies were looking directly at me!
Bren was wrong! Haha.
They were from church, and though I have seen them around quite often, I hardly interact with them.
The lady who waved to me was out of breath. She quickly handed me a book, and said something about this being my book. I was puzzled, and said, “No, this is not mine. You sure you have the right person?”
She insisted, so I opened the book, and right in front of me was the sweetest message…
It was from another lady in church whom I have never spoken to, and she shared on how God impressed upon her to pray for me regarding my conceiving journey, which she had been covering me in prayer for the past month! She was also led to get me a book, to help me as I wait upon His timing.
She was believing with me that God would grant me a child like how it happened to Hannah in the Bible, and she said she claimed the Word of Knowledge on 10 August 2014 for me – the same day in which I went forward to the altar for prayers! How amazing is it that God would use someone I did not even know (I had to ask a few friends before figuring out who this kind lady was) to bless me in such specific ways!
It was a very touching moment, and till this day, I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
And that was not all.
The next day, I went to work, and I bumped into a colleague from another department at the washroom, so we chatted. She asked about how I was doing, and later shared that she claimed the Word of Knowledge on 10 August 2014 for me too – that God sees my egg and will grant me a child. I was almost in tears when I heard it, for I felt so blessed by these sweet prayer warriors.
God has been so good in sending me encouragement whenever I needed it, and His timing and ways are truly impeccable.
At that point, deep in my heart, though we had not embarked on our IVF journey yet, I knew His promise of a child was already fulfilled. I still did not know how it would happen, but I just knew that it was certain.
